Prophy / Polish

During your hygiene appointment, polishing your teeth can remove any extrinsic/superficial staining cause by pigmented residue from food, drinks, medications, and smoking. After your first hygiene appointment, we can evaluate your natural tooth shade or any staining below the tooth surface to see whether you would be a good candidate for whitening.

Whitening

Teeth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth. The procedure takes as little as 45 minutes of treatment. The active ingredient for the treatment is hydrogen peroxide. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin which bleaches the coloured substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged. There is absolutely no damage done to your teeth. The Zoom light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth, bringing back a natural white smile.
